OpenPanorama Specification has reach version 1.0.

The mission of OpenPanorama is to allow for the regrouping of industrialists and users of panoramic imagery, about the definition of a universal file format based on XML, which is simple and evolutionary.

XML is simple to use and is human readable,  it will also be possible to import a panorama in any proprietary format (such as QuickTime, ImageWorlds IVR) without any loss of quality.

Most importantly this is an open format that is capable of defining any panoramic image, and because it is an open format, software developers will be able to add support for OpenPanorama to their software, and create "point and click" programs to edit this format.
